The universe is the place where everything is the planets the. The universe was created, as most scientists think, in the big bang. The big bang started from a mathematical dot which means it has no dimensions. In that dot was all the mater and energy that now is in all the universe. It exploded making the universe and the 4 dimensions. There might be more to it than a universe there might be a multiverse which means many universes maybe with different laws of physics but this is very theoretical.
